Coinwaka uses a payment method for each kind of money movement. Knowing which is which keeps your funds safe.
The kinds of method
- Funding methods are used to buy crypto (card, M-Pesa, PayPal, bank transfer).
- Payout methods are used when you sell crypto and receive cash (M-Pesa, bank account). These require identity verification.
- P2P methods are settlement instructions, shown only inside an active trade and never in a public list.
The one rule
The account name on a payout or P2P method must match your verified identity. Third-party payments are not accepted: do not pay from, or receive into, someone else's account. If a sender's name does not match yours, do not release crypto, open a dispute.
Good to know
- A method added for money-out has a short security cooldown before its first use.
- Removing a method triggers a security alert on your account.
- Manage everything under Account → Payment Methods, grouped into Funding, Payout, P2P, and Crypto.
