What is USDT?
A US-dollar stablecoin and the most-traded asset on P2P.

USDT (Tether) is a stablecoin designed to stay close to 1 US dollar. It's the most widely used asset for P2P trading because its price barely moves, which makes it a clean unit for buying and selling.
- 1 USDT aims to equal ~1 USD at all times.
- It exists on several networks (TRON/TRC20, Ethereum/ERC20, and others). The network matters when you deposit or withdraw — see How to avoid wrong-network deposits.
- Stablecoins are not risk-free, but day-to-day they're far less volatile than Bitcoin or Ethereum.
On Coinwaka you can buy USDT with M-Pesa, card, or bank transfer, and trade it on P2P.
