Prohibited use
Prohibited Use Policy
The activities that are not allowed on Coinwaka, the use that requires review, and what happens when this policy is breached.
This list is not exhaustive. Conduct that is harmful, deceptive, or unlawful may breach this policy even if it is not named here.
01
Acceptable use
Coinwaka is operated by Chainwaka Technologies as a Kenya-first crypto payments and wallet platform in controlled beta. You may use Coinwaka only for lawful purposes, with your own verified identity, and in line with the Terms of Service, the AML and KYC Policy, and the laws that apply to you.
This policy lists the activities that are not permitted. It is not exhaustive: we may treat conduct that is harmful, deceptive, or that exposes users or the platform to legal or financial risk as a breach even if it is not named below.
02
Strictly prohibited activities
You must not use Coinwaka, directly or indirectly, in connection with any of the following:
- Fraud, scams, phishing, Ponzi or pyramid schemes, or any deception designed to take funds from others.
- Money laundering, terrorism financing, or moving the proceeds of crime.
- Funds or assets you know or suspect to be stolen, hacked, or otherwise illicit.
- Evading sanctions, or transacting for sanctioned persons, entities, or regions.
- Buying or selling illegal goods or services, controlled substances, weapons, or stolen data.
- Market manipulation, wash trading, spoofing, or coordinated abuse of prices or rewards.
- Identity fraud: fake, forged, or synthetic identities, or using another person’s documents.
- Renting, buying, selling, or sharing accounts, or opening accounts on behalf of an undisclosed third party.
- Unlicensed gambling, lotteries, or betting operations.
- Infringing intellectual property, selling counterfeit goods, or distributing malware.
- Unauthorized access, scraping, or attempts to disrupt or probe Coinwaka systems outside the responsible-disclosure process.
- Circumventing limits, verification, geographic restrictions, or other platform controls.
03
Restricted and review-required use
Some activity is not banned outright but may require additional verification, may be limited, or may be declined at our discretion. This includes high-volume or high-risk merchant activity, certain regulated industries, and large or unusual transactions. Coinwaka Pay merchant use is also governed by the merchant terms and prohibited-business rules.
04
Sanctions and restricted regions
Coinwaka screens users and transactions against sanctions and watchlists. We do not provide services to sanctioned persons or entities, or to users in regions where doing so is prohibited. You confirm you are not subject to such restrictions when you use the platform.
05
What happens if you breach this policy
If we identify activity that breaches this policy, we may, depending on the situation and the law: place a hold on a transaction, restrict or suspend an account, reverse or decline a payout, request further information or verification, and report the matter to the relevant authorities. Where the law requires, funds may be frozen or withheld.
We aim to act proportionately and to tell you what we can, but some actions are constrained by legal and security obligations.
06
Report a violation
If you believe someone is misusing Coinwaka, or you have been targeted by a scam, report it to compliance@coinwaka.com or open a support ticket. If you think your account has been compromised, secure it and contact us immediately.
